| A. | 1. Attempt to write the customer's license plate number down. 2. Enact the emergency stop button. 3. Open the dispenser and look for leaks. 4. Visually inspect the area for any free product or damage to the dispenser. 5. Call NPS at 1-800-310-9594 to inspect. | ||
| Q. | If a customer collides with the dispenser, what should we do? | ||
| A. | 1. Kill power to the dispenser by enacting the emergency stop button. 2. Close the shear valve at the dispenser. 3. Call NPS at 1-800-310-9594 to inspect. | ||
| Q. | Why is my Auto/Stik sounding? | ||
| A. | There may be several reasons why. To determine the problem: 1. Read the Auto/Stik display and it will show different codes to determine the problem. 2. Refer to the owners manual for details. 3. Call NPS at 1-800-310-9594 for a technician's assistance. | ||
| Q. | My automatic shut-off switch is not working on the nozzle, how do we fix this? | ||
| A. | Check the tube to be sure it is not plugged or replace the nozzle. | ||
| Q. | How often should I clean the image device on the scanner? | ||
| A. | Once a month or when needed within the month. | ||
| Q. | How do I know what size paper our Auto/Stik, Receipt Ticket Printer, etc. needs? | ||
| A. | Look in owner's manual or call NPS at 1-800-310-9594. | ||
| Q. | If there is a petroleum spill on the premises, what should we do? | ||
| A. | 1. Call NPS immediately at 1-800-310-9594. 2. If there is an ignition source nearby, call 911. 3. Attempt to control the direction (flow) of the spill by using sorbents downgradient (downhill) of the spill. Always wear the appropriate personal protective equipment. | ||
| Q. | If the dispensers are not dispensing fuel, what steps should we take? | ||
| A. | 1. Check the fuel level. 2. Check the emergency stop button to make sure it is not engaged. 3. Check the power breakers. Call NPS at 1-800-310-9594 for further assistance. | ||
| Q. | Our canopy lights are flickering, is it time to change the lights? | ||
| A. | Yes, there might be a bulb or ballast out of service. | ||
| Q. | If we spilled soda, etc. on our console what should we do? | ||
| A. | 1. If someone is pumping fuel wait until they are done. 2. Power down the console. 3. Clean up the spill. 4. Power back up. If console does not come back-up, call NPS at 1-800-310-9594 | ||
| Q. | Receipts will not print out of the card reader, what should we do? | ||
| A. | 1. Make sure the card reader is not out of paper. 2. Check for a paper jam. 3. Call NPS at 1-800-310-9594 if you need further assistance. | ||
| Q. | How often should I have my card readers cleaned? | ||
| A. | Bi-monthly or monthly, depending upon the weather conditions and usage of the card readers. The objective is to keep the heads clean and free of debris. | ||
| Q. | How often should I have my hoses replaced? | ||
| A. | When there are visual cracks and/or wear or seepage is occurring. Call NPS at 1-800-310-9594 to order new hoses. | ||
| Q. | How often should I get my pumps calibrated? | ||
| A. | Annually to prevent fuel miscalculations and/or visits from weights and measures. Call NPS at 1-800-310-9594 to schedule a service calibration call. | ||
| Q. | Why are my pumps running slowly? | ||
| A. | Your pumps could be running slowly for several reasons, check for the following: 1. Check to see if the leak detector is tripping. 2. Check to see if you have dirty filters. 3. Check your tank monitor to see if there is a leak. 4. Check to see if your tank is low or out of product. 5. Call NPS at 1-800-310-9594 for further assistance. | ||
| Q. | How often should I have the filters changed? | ||
| A. | Once a year or if product is pumping slow. | ||
| Q. | Do my tank fill covers need to be labeled/identified? | ||
| A. | Every product (fuel type) must be identified properly with distinctive colors and markings according to state regulations. | ||
| Q. | Does the transport driver have to monitor re-fueling operations during the re-fueling process? | ||
| A. | Yes, the transport driver must stay with the vehicle (transport) and monitor "fueling activities". In addition, no ignition sources may be present during re-fueling (i.e. smoking, etc.). | ||
| Q. | Why do my dispensers need to be isolated from electrical feedback? | ||
| A. | The electrical on dispensers need to be adequately protected from electrical feedback. A "Dispenser Hook Isolation" box must be in place for every submersible pump to prevent this electrical feedback or stray voltage. | ||
| Q. | Can a vehicle be running while fueling? | ||
| A. | Absolutely not. The running vehicle could cause static electricity, which could cause a spark and/or an explosion. | ||
